get to know me (＾＾＃)

hello all. my name is darwin alias 'mycrocosem' or mycro. french speakers can call me louis. i am a frequent fronter, & my role is somewhat nebulous, but i tend to describe myself as a soother & social alter. i am a fictive of one of our characters, i consider myself pretty source-unseparated & compliant, but im not exactly like him & am aware that i am my own person.

i am the one who initiated & mainly works on out current visual novel/pseudo dating sim project. we won't be sharing it publically, only privately between friend & mutuals but; ill just say that it explores the concept of dreams & how one processes information subconciously. you play as yourself, haunting the body of a young dragon whose sole life mission seems to consist of being a host for a soul like yours, helping you find friendship & love in a place where people go to dream. through this, you forge relationships with 4 friends, who are all at the edge of a big change within their lives, & help them take the final step in building better days for themselves. in turn, the dragon realizes there may be more to life than what they thought they were supposed to be. im coding it in renpy, everything is in a 1bit black & white pixel art style, & ive been composing the music for it myself using beepbox.

i like visual novels & adventure games in general as well as rpgmaker games by extension. renpy & rpgmaker are both really great tools for beginner developers who want to give themselves a voice. the reason i like visual novels is that i find them to be a succint take on storytelling. they arent 'good games' & they dont have to be, anyone who rags on vns for having no gameplay isnt the target audience, its true. the 'novel' in the name is meant to be taken quite literally, they are more akin to novels than to video games. i think thats whats so beautiful, having nailed down a format to communicate a story through a computer.

going with the theme of my vn, i find dreams to be... interesting. were more used to writing realism/slice of life, so a segment where a character is dreaming will be an opportunity to explore scenarios that happen outside the realm of possibility, while grounding it around the life of the dreamer. so... if you havent noticed yet, im the target audience for yume nikki lmao. strangely though, i started working on my vn before i started really engaging with yn. was it fate ? anyway, i like it a lot. i often listen to its ost as well as the ost for yume 2kki while im working & writing. like right now. you could say its music has influenced mine in some way as well.

other than all of that, i like biology. it seems like a no brainer since were studying it in college, but im one of the alters who likes class the most & i consider it a part of my identity as an alter. & uh, i really like malice mizer. &, my favorite color is purple, thats important.
